TCP REQUIREMENTS

TCP stands for “Transportation Charter Party Carrier of Passengers”. There are two (2) **classifications of TCP licenses as follows:
Common Carriers, and
Specialized
Contract Carriers

Learn from the best! No rumors, no guessing, no lying!

  1. One SAFE VEHICLE (car, limousine, van suv, bus, rickshaw, stationwagon, motorbike, etc) – Your BEST Company/Owner Applicant Vehicle/Car………..

  2. One QUALIFIED DRIVER (prefer with passenger endorsement; say B/P) – Use your best qualified Owner-Driver or an Employee-driver,

  3. Establish DMV Pull Notice Program (PNP), and Enroll all Drivers in the PNP = Screen Driver Records,

  4. Establish a Controlled Substances Management Program for your company; and Enroll All Drivers for Random Drug & Alcohol Testing.

  5. COMMERCIAL CAR-REGISTRATION, Auto Insurance.  Ask your local DMV if your vehicle can be Registered as a Commercial Motor Vehicle(CMV); especially, if you have a Salvaged Vehicle.

  6. WORKERS’ COMPENSATION INSURANCE:TO COVER ALL EMPLOYEES. An employee, with respect to Workers’ Comp. Insurance coverage, in transportation business, includes anyone working for/with an owner operator, a Non managing member of an LLC, or share holders of acorporation who are not officers of the corporation but work for the corporation, and

  7. New Law requires TWO FIRE EXTINGUISHERS for every stretched limousines and extended length vehicles. One with the driver and the other in the passenger compartment in conspicuous display; and will be checked by the CHP and other authorities.

Remember, “passenger carriers (limousines, airport shuttles, charter and scheduled bus operators, and others) are only allowed to operate after providing evidence of
insurance (financial responsibility) and other highway safety related documentation to the PUC.
